Named as one of the top trendy restaurants of 2017, The Fat Duck is located in a nondescript cottage in Berkshire, England, and was established in 1995 by celebrity chef Heston Blumenthal. It was originally created as a French bistro, but Blumenthal’s penchant for experimenting with flavor combinations and multi-sensory cooking helped the restaurant earn three Michelin stars.

Believing that food should be an experience, Blumenthal presents his menu as an “itinerary.” Each guest takes a nostalgic journey throughout the day that covers morning, mid-morning, afternoon, evening, and night. Together with his team, Blumenthal creates dishes that range from basic to elaborate to invoke a sense of curiosity and nostalgia.

Individuals can participate in this experience by making a reservation for two, three, four, or six guests. The Fat Duck allows guests to make reservations within a four-month booking period, during which time they can choose to dine at the restaurant anywhere from noon local time to just after 8 p.m. Reservations are only available when visitors also purchase and pay for a ticket to enjoy the experience prepared by Blumenthal and his team.
